Purpose and Activities The MoReq specification contains model requirements for the management of electronic records. Released in 2001, the original MoReq specification was only superseded in 2008 by the release of MoReq2; a substantially upgraded new standard that includes a rich metadata model, full XML schema and comprehensive testing framework. In fact it is the MoReq2 testing framework that has made it possible to officially certify Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) against the the mandatory and optional requirements of the specification for the very first time. Both the original MoReq specification and MoReq2 were developed by the DLM Forum. On December 11, 2008 the MoReq Governance Board held its inaugural meeting at the DLM Forum triennial conference in Toulouse, France.
