MoReq Governance Board

Purpose and Activities

The MoReq specification contains model requirements for the management of electronic records.  Released in 2001, the original MoReq specification was only superseded in 2008 by the release of MoReq2; a substantially upgraded new standard that includes a rich metadata model, full XML schema and comprehensive testing framework.  In fact it is the MoReq2 testing framework that has made it possible to officially certify Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) against the the mandatory and optional requirements of the specification for the very first time.

Both the original MoReq specification and MoReq2 were developed by the DLM Forum.  For more information on the MoReq specification follow this link to the area of the site dedicated to MoReq

The MoReq Governance Board (MGB) was established by the DLM Forum Executive Committee in the Summer of 2008 to safeguard the integrity of MoReq in its use and development.

On December 11, 2008 the MoReq Governance Board held its inaugural meeting at the DLM Forum triennial conference in Toulouse, France.

The MoReq Governance Board has the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure MoReq brand name protection
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of MoReq Chapter zero content and translations of the MoReq specification
  • Instigate and promote MoReq awareness, use and adoption in the EU through publications, training programmes and other communication channels and partners
  • Provide an ongoing programme for the maintenance and testing of MoReq
