Version 1.1 of MoReq2010 now available

One of the nice surprises in store for delegates to the DLM Forum triennial conference in Brussels in December 2011 was the gift to every attendee by the European Commission of a paper edition of the new version 1.1 of MoReq2010. Previously available only as a PDF download, the commission has now published the MoReq2010 specification in book form.

MoReq2010 version 1.1 cover illustrationVersion 1.1 is generally (and freely) available to the public and can be downloaded as a electronic specification in PDF format from the MoReq2010 downloads page. Or, if you still prefer the heft of a physical document, then head on over to the EU Bookshop and order the (free) paper edition for your bookshelf.

Please be aware that for reasons of space the paper edition does not include chapter 14, the full information model of MoReq2010, which is available only in the PDF version.

Also available for those who wish to delve into the technical side of MoReq2010, the XML export schema can be downloaded from here, and information about the accreditation, certification and testing programme for MoReq2010 is available for download here.

2012 will see an expansion of the MoReq2010 programme by the DLM Forum, under the guidance of the MoReq Governance Board, and we expect to see further additions and extensions to the MoReq2010 specification being announced, as anticipated by its modular structure.

Announcement of release of BETA Test Framework and launch of MoReq2010 testing programme

To coincide with the first day of the DLM Forum's triennial conference the DLM Forum has begun to release the MoReq2010 test framework and kick started the testing programme for compliant solutions.

graduateFollowing on from the previous announcement in September inviting test centres to seek accreditation and join the MoReq2010 test programme, the DLM Forum is now releasing the test framework that will be used by accredited test centres for testing solutions.

The DLM Forum has had multiple responses to the call for test centres to join the MoReq2010 test programme and expects to announce the first new MoReq2010 accredited test centre at the conference.

The test centre accreditation agreement previously published in draft for consultation has now been finalised and can be found with the other test materials here. (A reminder that any independent organisation that fulfils the qualification requirements can apply for accreditation as a MoReq2010 Test Centre.)

The test framework consists of a number of separate test materials including:

  • The test framework overview and instructions,
  • The pre-qualification questionnaire to be completed by suppliers on application, and
  • The test modules including test data and test scripts.

These documents can also be found and downloaded with the other test materials and more test modules will be added shortly.

The MoReq2010 test programme is currently in BETA and will remain so until the test framework has been verified by testing in the field. Verification of the test framework will be done concurrently with the first few solutions to be tested. As some suppliers have already expressed interest in having their solutions tested and certified, the DLM Forum is keen to discuss with them potentially joining the BETA test programme.

All expressions of interest and feedback should be sent to the DLM Forum secretariat, where it will be passed on to the testing, accreditation and certification panel of the MoReq Governance Board.

Earlier this year the DLM Forum announced the publication of its Modular Requirements for Record Systems (MoReq2010) Specification. The specification is available here.
