MoReq – Model Requirements for the Management of Electronic Records Following the original publication of MoReq in 2001, and MoReq2 a very substantial revision that includes a testing and certification programme in 2008, the DLM Forum has continued its commitment to the European standard for electronic record management by establishing the MoReq Governance Board.
The MoReq Governance Board is responsible for - The administration of the MoReq2 certification testing regime;
- Protection of the MoReq and MoReq2 “brands”;
- Monitoring of Chapter Zero additions and MoReq2 translations; and
- Ongoing maintenance of the specification, testing framework and XML schema.
Under the guidance of the MoReq Governance Board, activity on MoReq continues. For more information on MoReq, follow this link Future ActivitiesThe following initiatives were discussed at the Toulouse conference in December 2008 and may become future activities of the DLM Forum: consider issues surrounding the transfer of records from the originating bodies to archival services, in particular by encouraging the use of the MoReq2 XML schema in joint pilot projects for interoperability between records management and archive applications; evaluate the impact of new software technologies on records management and archives systems in practice; provide guidance for developing electronic records management skills and competencies within user communities across Europe; establish strategies for influencing decision-makers to implement ERDMS, notably by carrying out cost-benefit analyses; and provide the DLM members a set of practical case studies and concrete solutions.
